Many owners have the incorrect addresses on their property owners records. The Realtors gave many of us bad information and keep using it.
There are 2 issues, first some use 'Apt' then the number, but the legal description uses 'Unit'.
The second issue is the use of N or S after the unit number. The N/S designation was by the builders, workmen and residents to easily describe the 2 buildings north and south. The post office sorting machines don't have that in the database and I wa told it could slow delivery.
You can look up your official address at https://tools.usps.com/zip-code-lookup.htm
You can look at your property records at: https://www.bcpao.us/propertysearch/#/nav/Search
For example Brevard County Property Appraiser's Office listing address.
Examples from Property appraiser site of our properties:
Mail Address: 1805 RIVERSIDE DR APT XXXN TITUSVILLE, FL 32780
Site Address: 1805 RIVERSIDE DR UNIT XXX TITUSVILLE FL 32780
Our condo’s addresses on public records are legally UNIT not APT as many have used in their mailing addresses, mainly by the original Realtors who helped setting up your accounts. You cannot search for your unit in public records if you put in the Apt and your number you will get: NO RESULTS FOUND.
Second the N and S added after the unit number on addresses were for the builders and neighbors to more easily communicate which tower. N & S after a unit number are not legal descriptions. 1805 and 1825 Unit XXX is proper, but in conversations between us, N & S is fine.
To fix your property documents you can call the Brevard property at (321) 264-6700 Ask to update your mailing address, your ‘Site Address’ is correct on the property records. When you get next year’s property tax bill there is a place where you can update your mailing address there.
